The couture of the Cologne-based designer Gesine Moritz can
be found today in all the big cities across the globe. She has
pursued this style for the past twenty-five years - a blend of
natural elegance and self-assured extravagance. Gesine Moritz
was born 1941 in Berlin and grew up in Husum on Germany’s
North Sea coast. She studied photography and graphic design
at the Folkwang School in Essen and subsequently enjoyed a
successful career in advertising. The desire to create one’s own
product resulted in her first clothes designs at the close of the
70s, which Gesine Moritz perceived as a conscious alternative
to the prevalent fashion at the time. Since then she has designed
her collections with a new take on materials and fabric, using
innovative cuts inspired by art, film and literature - a hommage
indeed to the rich culture of feminine apparel.
The label Gesine Moritz has been distributed since 1994 by
Vestimentum GmbH & Co KG with great success.
